This Privacy Policy explains how SHANGMEALS LLC ("ShangMeals," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use the ShangMeals mobile application and website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.

The short version: We collect what's needed to deliver food to you — your account details, delivery location, and payment authorization. We do not store your full credit card number. You can delete your account at any time.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and a password. Merchants also provide restaurant name, address, and business details.

Location data

To find restaurants near you and enable delivery, we collect your device location when you use the app. With your permission, we use precise location to route couriers to your address.

Payment information

We use a third-party payment processor to handle payments. We do not store your full credit or debit card number on our servers. We retain only a tokenized reference to process refunds and display your saved payment method.

Order and usage data

We collect your order history, app activity, device identifiers, crash logs, and performance data to operate and improve the Service.

Information you provide directly

This includes messages you send to support, merchant sign-up submissions, and any other details you give us.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only as necessary to operate the Service and as described below:

  • Restaurants and couriers: The restaurant receives the order details needed to prepare your food; the courier receives the delivery address and contact information needed to deliver it.
  • Service providers: Third parties that help us operate — payment processing, maps, push notifications, and analytics (see Section 4).
  • Legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party services to operate. Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We share information with these service providers only as needed to deliver the Service:

  • Payment processing: To securely process credit card, debit card, and Apple Pay payments. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Location and mapping: To display nearby restaurants and route couriers to your delivery address.
  • Push notifications: To send you updates about your order status.
  • Analytics: To understand app usage and improve our service.
  • Crash and performance reporting: To identify and fix issues to keep the app running reliably.

5. Data Retention & Security

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular reviews — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights & Account Deletion

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of certain data uses or marketing communications

Deleting your account: You can delete your ShangMeals account at any time directly in the app (Profile → Account → Delete Account), or by emailing info@shangmeals.com. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data from the Service, subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. U.S. Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" of personal information. 9. International Data Transfer

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to and processing in the United States.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email and update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
